Oregon State University, graduated with a BS in Math in 1967; Electrical Engineering was my minor. Continuous Modeling, Simulation, & Optimization were/are main subjects. After a lay-off in 1991, I started writing my math casebook, goal-driven.net/textbooks/, showing how to solve most math problems. 32 years later the book is completed plus a website, 4 apps developed, and front-end for a compiler developed in order to show the new Calculus (level) computer language that makes solving math problems very easy. This language takes an 'automobile' level computer to a 'airplane' level computer. Design solution times drop by ~95%; i.e. what took 20 months is now done in less than 1 month and the solution is optimal. One app developed, ODEcalc, solves explicit or implicit Ordinary Differential Equations in a few minutes!

Volunteer Tutor at "Hearts with a Mission" for 5 years; 2010 to 2016. Calculus & Differential Equations main math studies. Minored in Electrical Engineering. Worked for Memorex Corp. on optimizing their Read-Right thin-film-head for disc drive production. Worked at Lockheed Missiles & Space Co. trying to use spectral estimation algorithms to detect whether on coming satellite was a friend or foe. Anyone interested in a webinar on solving math problems in minutes without writing any numerical analysis or methods? A Calculus (level) computer language, e.g. FortranCalculus, can solve most math problems in minutes. Their libraries have varies numerical methods available for use. A user adds a 'By xxx' clause to invoke their 'xxx' numerical method. States their math equations in a routine and initial conditions in another routine. Compiles the problem and executes it. The solution will be Optimal. In minutes, Job done! Amount of coding is normally on the order of 20 lines plus number of lines for ones equations. Nice and short. Automatic Differentiation is used by solvers to calculate the necessary Jacobian or Hessian matrix. Derivatives of equations must exist for most problems to converge to an optimal solution.
